Minors on the Main Grid

I have a place that attracts newbies just off an infohub. This is good.

In the last 30 days at least a half dozen of those I have met and talked to have admitted to being teens. The youngest was 13 year-old girl. This is bad.

I am not a lawyer, but anyone with a little business experience can see that there are liability issues here for LindenLabs.

The main grid is definately an adult arena. What is in place to prevent a 13yo girl from working as a dancer or an escort? The pay is good, and the offers to hire numerous. What are the odds that a serious exploitation by an adult male will eventually take place? What are the odds that this event will be at worst, a criminal offense and at best, serious enough to warrant litigation by the child's parents?

Please guys - above and beyond the issue of griefers - please institute some sort of age verification that keeps teens on the teen grid.

Thanks for your concern. In the case you describe--when someone admits to you in-world that they are underage--please file an abuse report by going to the Help menu/Report Abuse. Select category "age" and post a chat snippet supporting minor's self-admission of being underage. All reports of minors on the Main Grid are taken very seriously. Customer support will put a hold on the account for age verification.
