Looking at buying a new computer. Does SL run on a 64 bit processor?

Sure does, Vivianne. I'm on a 64-bit processor right now. Specifically, an Opteron 170, which is a dual-core AMD processor.
Second Life isn't yet especially optimized for 64-bit processors; the technology is still newish, but my own experiences have been good, and you'll come across an increasing number of Residents running on them. I'd ask other Resis in Technical Issues for their experiences. All the best with your acquisition! _____________________
