It seems to me that a lot of discord is promoted in SL by not allowing land owners the ability to remove any and all stuffed deemed unsightly by the land owner from their own land.

I wonder why that is. Is someone getting some preverted ego pleasure out of this?

Where is the ethics? If I do not grant build rights to another on my land why can't I remove the junk???

I have seen many posts in the forums asking this same basic question. We always have to ask a Linden!!!

Webster you can return other people's objects from you own land. Right click on it, then select More/Return, or you can return it from the objects tab on About Land. You can also set auto-return there, so any objects owned by others would be returned after a period of your choosing. Hope that helps :)

Ah ... Fade ... doesn't work if a build overlaps your and your neighbour's lot. You are not able to remove the build.

Mmm yeah Melina if the root prim's on their land you're screwed, you're right. You can AR them, though I'd try IMing them first. It is a pain having to get a Linden for that, but maybe it would be hard to implement anything to solve the problem. Actually I have this very problem at the moment, so I should have realised that's what they were talking about.

A neighbours linked house (it apparently was in two linked sections) onces overran my border..I IMed him and he never responded. My response, having seen him online, and active in his home, all the time ignoring my IMs and shouts, was simple. I built Walls along that side of my property and returned all his belongings on my side. Once 1/4 of his house was walled off and he lost his hot tub and bedroom space...he quickly decided to move his house off my land.
