Just woke up, and still catching up in the forums
over the last 7 hours...

Does anyone know how this has affected Ginko?
Has anyone tried to take their money out and
been denied?

Any Ginko folks out there to give us a heads up?

I took out my money this morning as a precaution, didn't have any problems but it was a small amount anyway.

I talked to some people at Ginko last night. They said not to worry, that they have increased their reserves to handle an expected increase in the number of withdrawals, and they have access to an even larger pool of L$, if that was needed.

They also said that their primary income is *not* from trading L$, so their own investments will be minimally impacted. All in all, they seem to have everything well in hand.

I still got all of my money out of ginko, just to be safe. :-)

Like Flyingroc said, Ginko has been handling the situation in a calm fashion. The closing of GOM will surely affect their business to an extent, but the core business remains intact and stable. Ginko's revenues depend on investments both ingame and off. Much of it is also based in RL investments so in terms of business Ginko is not affected severely. However their ability to buy and sell L$ sure had been hit.

However, as the 2nd largest account holder within Ginko, they had been professional as to how they managed this crisis. Their cash reserve should be large enough and should be ready for a panic. However, as the core economics of the business remain the same, I still feel safe having my money there with them.

We are receiving a quite unusual amount of withdrawals, but no problems so far. 1.5 mil in the last 24 hours to be more precise, net. We are looking into ways to handle this crisis in general, since GOM shuting down really causes some significant problems to us. But you know, the chinese have the same word for crisis and opportunity... or so I hear.
