L$'s are circulating fast and resident base up to 153k. Which in turn means more content is being bought and sold then ever. SL's economy is rocking!

Why all this discussion about where the L$'s value is (short term) headed. Does even a single day trader still exist? We should be celebrating the real landmarks like resident count, daily LindeX volume high marks and popular content trends. It's all the player created content that will ultimately keep making SL worth something. Be it the value held by the L$ or the future where it's the license price for a sim/grid and asset server feed.

Right I know, very little content in SL holds resident's interests for very long. I figure with just time and more residents in the pot we'll be seeing a big and growing increase in new great (fun) must have content. Just give the latest 30k (50k - alts), who've joined in the last two months, another 6 months in the world. Many will add new content to the SL world. A few will make something great.

Because lots of people are taking the money the're making in SL out into the real world, unhappy that the exchange rate isn't doing what they would like, they start trying to find other reasons for the sinking value of the Linden. Hopefully a little sanity will kick in over the new few months and the profit taking will calm down.

Cutting out the stripend or slashing start up funds is frankly a stupid short shighted selfish position.

It's a given most who care about the economy are cashing out on a regular basis. I'm saying who cares about a few percentage points of declining currency value when the increase in volume of potential buyers is growing at such a far out distancing pace.

Myself and many others I know are seeing far bigger pay checks then last year at this time. In a year's time I'll gladly take the L$ valued at 600L$ per 1 USD with 300k accounts then 250L$ with 150k accounts.

Amen to that. :)

Exactly.

I have to agree!

I don't sell L$ but I have been known to buy them. And, I have to agree with the above posters! I'm so glad to see some of us don't go crazy when things may seem out of hand or are the way they are right now. I for one would NOT want to lose what I get every Tuesday just because some think it would help them. Thanks to those that agree!

Let me chime in here.

Yeah Stipend!

I look forward to Tuesday, watching my little stack of $L grow. And, once I figure out how to apply a gift certificate to an existing account, I shall be a premium owner and will be buying Lindens in order to purchase some land.

Had I not received my "welfare" I would have not stuck around long enough to decide the game is fun.

And thats the point. If you really get into the game you will pay back your stripend many times over by building content, providing services or selling your own creations.

"Getting into the game" doesn't necessarily mean building content and providing services.

Furthermore, assuming that you charge money for the things you build or provide, you aren't "paying back" anything by doing so.

You must be new.... Just wait a few months after your
investments fall in value.

No, but if you don't create then you consume. Either way your continued presence adds value.

Yes you are. Indirectly.

While this, my forum posting account, is new I am not. Which just goes to show you didn't bother reading my second post to this thread very well.

Ignoring that issue and foolhardily going on to directly address your statement of waiting a few months and then see how I'm doing, fine by me. :) I've been producing and selling SL content for almost a year and half in markets such as weapons, clothing, animations, gadgets and buildings. Mo' money, mo' money, mo' money! Each and every month. What's going to so drastically change that my investments will fall in value over the next couple of months? Please don't say L$ crashing and burning, I'd rather hear a new tune from you something not played by those who lurk under bridges.

On a side note, what's up with the lack of word wrap usage on your end? If you need the cash to buy one of these I'll gladly send you the L$ right away. :)
