Maybe I missed something. Was the listing of available public land removed from these webpages? Did something in 1.6.5 make it obsolete? I havent been keeping up as much lately so I could have missed the change.

Well, we have the answer:
/invalid_link.html Seems the listing was causing too much database load. Warm up those scanners! Seriously, I'd prefer land not go public and go to auction automatically. But I'd want a little more safety measures to help newbs from releasing land not knowing the consequences. |

Can you hear that humming sound??? Well it could be land scanners starting back up. I hope they get some way for us to know if released land is available and not just people with a Land Scanning Machine. Many of us enjoy watching this page. Hopefully they will find a solution to it soon!

I'm bringing this back up, because I'm wondering why Public Land is made more of an advantage for land scanners. If the public land was available for everyone to see, including new people that don't have land scanners, wouldn't it be less of an advantage to the few?

Database load ?
What ? How can that be ? Too many people checking it too often, or each query requiring too much processing ? Seems very odd. Were lots of people autochecking it every 10 secs ? |

Yeah, that's probably it. I remember they took off caching because it was geting out of date, but what about putting a 60 second cache on it? -Adam _____________________
