Will the drop continue or will today be a rally?

My advice:

SELL!

If you're genuinely concerned that SL has a working economy why are you not simply lobbying for the facilitation of real world currency transactions in world rather than shouting loudly over a toy currency and economy ?

Unless you and RBD have a hidden agenda of course, such as the manipulation & exploitation of the L$ to profit at the expense of residents ? No SERIOUS economic mind would even bother with the $L so however sound your economic reasoning might be you are a joke using it in this context. It's time to come clean please.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to recognise a certain pattern here.

I have some advice for you Jamie.

Shut up. Nobody cares.

I have not now, nor ever, been a currency speculator.

I do, however, advocate selling the L$ due to the serious federal linden deficits posted by the central government. The money supply will break 1 billion L$'s by year's end. Thats a serious increase which will significantly devalue the L$ further.

This would be wonderful. Could you get LL to implement it?

Nope, i'm afraid not, but if you're lobbying for change as a lot of economists and business people seem to be here, you might as well lobby for one with some point to it. I'm not even saying I personally particularly want it.

It will keep hovering at $328 to $329, before last minute SELL SELL SELLs tonight that will put about a mil at the $330 mark. Then people will be reluctant to move it off of the $330 line, so it will freeze at $330 for a while tomorrow. Maybe even for the whole day. Then it'll jump drastically to about $334 or so the following day. This may be slowed with that day being the start of a long weekend, and my guess more people will buy, wanting to spend more money in-game, but the trend will be right where it wa at again by Sunday/Monday. At least those are my market predictions.

Either her post is sarcasm, or, like me, she thinks stupid people wanting more and more stippends deserve what they get, that beng their stippends eventually not being worth jack, and not being able to buy them anything (while those people still pay their same $72 annual or $10monthly fee, half of which paing for what will essentially be trash)

They're both quite justified in their assertions AND rather stupid as are you. They're entitled to them just as they claim even if they do become worthless due to the changes in the economy - but no more stupid than those who shout about "fixing" that same $L economy when all they really want is a US$ economy within SL.

My advice to the Lindens traders is to get a haircut and get a real job!

I don't care if it's a US$ economy, a Euro economy, or even a Peso or a Ruble economy, as long as it's stable, and people actually have the option of getting some sort of payment for the hard work they put into making this game better. Why is that so hard to understand? No economy = no incentives aside from killing boredom = slow growth, limited innovention, and crappy content.

The manipulation is pretty much a known, it just ends up being a bit of a 'dirty secret' because its more "fun" to bitch about other things.

Of course the market is being manipulated. RBD and Jamie simply call this the "Free market" though. In real markets, there are controls for these sort of things.

On the Lindex, if you want to manipulate the entire price, it isn't that hard.

There have been threads about this before in here, but they haven't been taken very seriously. And they won't until some very clear evidence shows up.

And that'll never happen.

How does one manipulate it to go up, and what are the benefits of making it go down? (other than it costing a fortune to make it do that, since it's buy high, sell low)
