I got my land and upon examination it said I could put so many objects in this space. So I went shopping and came back to put stuff down. I didn't even have half the stuff put down when it told me the parcel was full so Im wondering if I wasted a bunch of money because they count Prims instead of objects? I see when examining the object it lists something like 1 object and 22 prims.

Yes, it's based on total prims not objects.
Not sure about the wording in the land window but if you check the land FAQ in the Wiki it clearly states prims. |

Guess I have a house with a rug in it and a lot of furniture in my inventory. As long as I don't go over the Prim count I can change the rug for a chair when I went to sit down and a chair for a bed when I want to sleep.
Only just started but I guess Ill take a month off to let my allowance build up enough so I can do something again. |

Assuming you bought first land at its discounted price, it probably has a resale value of L$4000-L$5000 on the open market. You could always sell your 512 plot, and buy a larger plot elsewhere (use Find > Land sales to see what's available). That may increase your tier (monthly payments) for any land over the 512 sq m that you get free with a Premium account, and use Lindex to buy more game money to complete the transaction's difference. Renting may also be another option worth pursuing. Lewis _____________________

Another option is to shop for lower prim housing and furniture. It is out there. I have lived quite comfortably on a 512 before and had the things to make it home. Just takes alot of care and planning to manage.

And another note, Nobby, if you can find more cheap land in the same sim, that increases your total prim allotment for the entire sim. (Oh and requires that you begin paying land-use fees...) For example if you had 2 512sq.m plots in one sim, you could put all 234 of your prims on only one of the two plots, even if the parcels are no where near each other. I was very skittish about buying extra land before I learned this...

An expensive lesson for a one word mistake by the Lindens but I one I wont forget. When I do get some more money I will find a low prim house and furniture. When you look at the prims per area Im surprised anyone can do anything without huge areas of land.

When you look at the prims per area Im surprised anyone can do anything without huge areas of land. Which is by design, of course. Linden Labs just gives you a li'l taste for free (well, once you start paying subscription fees). But they know full well that prims are like potato chips; you can't have just 1(17). |

I will make one comment about this, the wording on 1.9.1 in the preview has been changed from objects to primitives.
