I really think it should be required that the words "First Land" and "Land for the Landless" be removed from a plot if it is not, in fact, "First Land".

*chuckling at a certain well-known landswooper that has these words on a tiny plot going for way above the First Land prices"

I relisted the plots without changing the title... regardless, they are still in first land sims.

So my land was in a first land sim, so when I sell I can name it first land too then?? I prefer not to mislead buyers.

It can indicate the neighbourhood the land is in is a first land neighbourhood.

"So my land was in a first land sim, so when I sell I can name it first land too then?? I prefer not to mislead buyers."

Mislead buyers? Only if you were willing to sell your land for L$512, in which case you would be a really nice guy.

It doesn't matter, its not first land anymore. Any newbie looking for first land will see that and potentially spend way more than they should.

Its pretty clear when you goto buy a used firstland what fees will be inccured, its up to the user to decide how much they want to pay for land and if they want to pay extra. Some people do not want to purchase land in first land areas and having such in the tag helps them avoid them.

Apparently, some people have no such qualms.

If land is in sims that are still First Land, why can't you say First Land? In fact, if I wanted to name my land First Land or Second Land or anything what is the problem with that? And if that land "First Land" is not for sale at $512, and there are other plots that ARE for sale at $512, I don't have to buy it, right?

Isn't there also a search tab for 'First Land'? (Like there should be for all different forms of land... think ESTATES)..

I don't see how anyone could be making this into an ethics debate.... lol =)

You "can" list it as first land but I would definately call it unethical.

I really do know what your getting at. But I dunno, I guess I give new Slers a bit more credit. I mean, generally this relisted 'new land' (First Land - don't be angry with me ^^) is expensive right? Not listed under the First Land tab right? Can be determined to not be 'first 1.0 land' by price right? So, a newbie logs on, scans the list way down to overpriced 512s. Buys a bunch of Lindens (he doesnt start with 2500-4500). TPs over, clicks the spiffy new sales menu to pay this articular user with a likely fairly funky name not even similar to BlahBlah Linden, and then buys? THEN discovers hes been ripped off? I just *reallly* don't see that happening. Not trying to be argumentative, but i've always taken those plots to be just that:

"Hey Land Barons / Store people. Here is some NEW land, in a NEW sim, with NEW customers. Ive made that clear by leaving the description as FIRST LAND, so you are welcome to pay my expensive price for this chance to sell your product, or set up a recruiting office or whatever in a prime location to attract lots of FRESH new people"...

I just don't personally think this is anywhere even in the realm of a bait or switch or scam or whatever.... But, what do I know, right? Maybe I do give people too much credit ^^ hee hee

You silly, that's what the forums are *FOR*. Especially fun is when everyone gets to turn it into an ethics debate against the evil nefarious land barons.

Hell, if that's not what you thought why are you even reading the forums?

[P.S.] Because posts are so frequently misinterpreted, I feel compelled to explicitly state that I am being facetious here.

That was very sweet of you to make it clear.

[P.S.] My use of the word 'sweet' was in no way meant to claim that you a) Were 'swooping' my heart *gasp* b) Engaging in fantasy underage roleply in both your mind and/or in pixel form, or c) were implying that this First message of yours to me, was in fact not a first first message, but a second first message disguising itself as a first first message for greater effect...... too much? *bats eyelashes*

But I was definitely trying to do A), furiously engaged in B), a little confused about C), and wonderfully curious about *bats eyelashes*.

[P.S.] My original P.S. was aimed at everyone in general, and not just you ;) Had I known to expect *that* kind of response, I'd have put a little more energy into personalizing it just for you .

How is it a trick or unethical, I don't get this.

#1, It is still first land, even though it has been purchased and resold. A rose by any other name, is still a rose.

#2, You still have every ability to purchase the L$512 first land plots, and it is very obvious which ones the are. (Hint: they are priced at L$512)

#3, You still get the 0 tier increase on 512 plots.

#4, Quick, brief research into what 'First Land' even is would yeild information you need to know the difference.

#5, There is a big box asking you to confirm everything before you buy it. If you are willing to pay that for the land, how is the seller acting unethical?
