Wow, thats some prime advertising, although the marketing theme is still "Make money playing SL." So, all you old hands quit bagging on the new peeps that come trying to "cash in" ;p

I believe we see the "why" for the semi-sudden dwell removal as it relates to inflation: Anticipation.

Not much was "sudden" or semi-sudden (?) with the removel of dwell, bonuses, Mistah.

Most of us watching the SL economy had expected this move when Linden Lab killed the Developer Incentive.

The funny thing with SL and our Linden Labs Masters,
is that you can make money in SL, but the lack luster economic
policy of the King will make your profits vaporize into dust.
Couple that with zero effort by LL to focus on tools needed in SL
to facilitate business and profits.

Regardless.. This is what I call a Good Looking Woman.. :)

Isn't google going to do a thing where you can put your HD on their servers, and you'll be able to access it anywhere?

Just for future references, its sort of SL tradition to post major articles in General since they normally cover the gamut; there's one that's been active in there. I disagree with this sentiment a bit, where I may have agreed in other articles... here's why:
From: Me In The Other Thread
It hit me why I liked this article so much, while in the past, a lot of the ones focusing on making real money in Second Life have left me feeling somewhat empty. Its because rather than focusing only on "OMG, you can make real money!", they show it through simple narratives.

Instead of having "money" be the star of the article, they chose to show how people have made money, or used SL for business purposes. Instead of creating an article where people might just join and expect to make easy money, BusinessWeek outlined several different people who have used Second Life for various business applications. This doesn't make it look like easy money, rather, it shows that you need to be innovative and that its not "easy money" - its actual work to distinguish yourself from the pack.

Hopefully this kind of article will lead to more wonderfully creative minds joining us - even if they're interested in the business side of things.

I think BusinessWeek did a much more in-depth look at things, and not just "zOMG the money!" Rob Hof is to be commended! :)

Regards,

-Flip

If anyone wants to check this clip out:
http://FetedInnerCore.com/CNBC/

It was featured on the CNBC show, "On the Money" - between two segments about booze and Internet pr0n, appropriately enough! :)

A Professionel Magazine - a Professional journalist = Makes it!

Most of papers/magazines/telvesion are only out after making a selling Headline of this.. thats why most articles are bad.. worse then bad..

Not available on News Stands until tomorrow!
04-24-2006 10:37
Dang it! I went to Barnes and Nobles, Books a Million, then to the grocery store... somebody finally told me that they don't put it on the stands until Tuesdays.

So if anyone is wondering, or was about to rush out to get a copy, wait til tomorrow =)

Lazy book store workers don't wanna unpack inventory. You said Borders? There's one here I think. I better call first this time. =)

Opinion:

Indeed she is, and that is one glorious cover!

Can't wait to read the piece, and I'm looking forward to many new customers in SL. (They are ALWAYS customers, until and even after they start their own businesses.)

The business week article is what got me interested in this Second Life and why I opened my account. My roommate too. At least n=2 that the power of visibility creates new customers.
