Is it illegal to put RL stores in the game? For example to sell domain names, books, paintings, shoes, even cars? People can see things better in SL environment instead of 2D pictures on web pages. Any people running any RL store in SL? What can be the ideas about it? (Please dont include any "devaluation, inflation L$ value" posts to this thread.)

Good question

That's a really interesting question (far more interesting than most of the recent threads begun in this godawful forum).
I'm not aware of any RL stores operating in SL. Doesn't mean there aren't any so please correct me if I'm just ignorant.
I can't see any reason why this would be illegal unless the SL store owner were stealing the RL store's intellectual property.
SL *could* become a place for virtual 3D shopping and that's a development I'd love to see.
A couple of thought experiments by way of example: let's say that in SL 2.3 we get the facility to upload our RL body shape to a more sophisticated avatar (have to be an alt in my case Pat is way more buff than I'll ever be!) You could try on the new range of clothes at Gap, H&M, Top Shop or wherever, see if they suit you and then order the RL clothes for delivery. Or pop down to the RL shop and see if the clothes you've selected really suit.
Another one: go to your virtual Argos, buy the latest coffee making whatchamacallit, see how it looks in the virtual recreation of your home and kitchen, buy and have it delivered.
Course there are a number of issues to resolve first (revealing RL location, security of transactions, RL money or L$ etc) but I think this is part of the future that many see when they describe SL as a platform rather than a game.
Just remembered: I have heard of RL objects being made from items originally designed in SL but not on any kind of scale.

There is a real-world travel agency (Global Travel International) in-world at Raziel Vesperia (135, 76, 21).
One can also by some real-life products at SLboutique.com, but it's debatable whether or not that's "in-world".

I contacted many online-shop or online business about that, and nobody was interested (or even answered) (devaluation, inflation L$ value)

I contacted a travel agency in europe, they asked tons of questions, especially how many eu residents play SL. Well, i dont have enough data to answer them:/ From: kerunix Flan (devaluation, inflation L$ value)
