I'm wondering how to do this... I am the one donating the land, and I am at my max tier (no extra donated I can "reclaim" . I suspect I have to do it this way, but would appreciate any comments on if this will work or not. So, to move land (1,240 sq m parcel) called "Parcel", which is currently in Group A, I'm guessing I can: 1) Set Group A Parcel to sell only to my avatar, for $0L. 2) Reduce my donated land in Group A by 1,240. (get warning message) 3) Quickly buy Group A Parcel as user-owned. (should remove warning message) 4) Donate user-owned Parcel (with tier) to Group B. I *think* there's a small grace period after step 2. At least, in the past when I've accidentally set the donation too low, it says there is a deficiency. Before I try it I wanted to run it by folks in the Forums here. What do you think?

Step 2 is correct, but Step 3 won't remove the warning message. In Step 5, you will see that you have some extra tier left over that you need to give back to Group A. Give this back to Group A and the warning message for Group A will go away. It's because of the 10% tier bonus that groups get. But looks good. Don't worry about the grace period. You've got plenty of time to get it done.

Whew, thanks folks... I never knew what that grace period was, so I was kind of flying blind. If it's at least a few hours, I think I'll be fine EDIT: It worked! Yes, I was also an Officer of both groups (I didn't mention that before).

At first I was very apprehensive about reducing tier on active groups thing but now that I have done it a bunch of times it works out good.
Another thing I do is rebalance each group I have tier donated to down so that it is at 0 or 1sqm spare since the 10% bonus gives you some wiggle room and I can donate that spare tier elsewhere.

Oh, one other thing.
This doesn't affect most people, but it is nasty when it does. It's bitten me a couple of times.
If you have prims on the land *and* you have more than one piece of land in the sim.
Then be careful! When you transfer the land, it will turn off autoreturn, so that's not a problem
But if the lots are pooling their prim allocation and you transfer one lot, but not the others, then one or more of the lots can be put over their prim allocation and prims *will* be returned.

Assuming you are an officer of Group B: Step 1 is correct Step 2) Reduce your donated land in Group A by 931sm (1024/1.1) Step 3) Donate that 931sm to Group B Step 4) Purchase the land for Group B directly using the Buy for Group button That'll transfer the land directly from Group A to Group B without you ever having to own it personally.
