I was a little dissapointed when I signed on today to find the new lindex setup working at a very low value for the L$.
I actually kind of expected this with a new system like this, but I see where the theory is, and how it all might just operate. We all sat here and complained for months about the people who just wanted to sell off all their L$ as fast as possible without waiting. Well now thay can sell off instantly without waiting. They just succumb to getting less US$ for their L$. As for those of us who are a little more patient, the people who want to buy L$ right now and not wait for someone to fill thier sell order, will do so, and take care of us who are patiently waiting for our L$ to sell. I would give this 1-2 weeks to settle down, and I think we might just be very pleased with the outcome of this. It is a great idea LL. I just hope it works in RL as it does on paper :-)

It works - at least if you assume, that - on paper - it was intended, to drive down the L$'s value faster than before! ;)

Lindens seem top have realized that themselves. Have a look here: Technical reason for the recent drop in the L$ value?

I was busy last night at the time I normally gather data to see just what the distribustion is above L$280/1 but will get the data tonight and post it here so everybody can see what has happened in the last two days. I hope we will be pleasently suprised.

I'm already pleasantly surprised just by the Trades in the Past 24 Hours graph, and by the fact that the $L has been frozen at the $320 mark for the last 2+ days

As promised I recorded the 11:00 data for the 23rd of May to compared it to the 21st of May data hoping to be pleasently suprised. Well I was suprised and shocked at the same time. Here are the numbers. On 21 May there were L$23,909,751 offered for sale at or above L$280/1 by 23 May that number had grown to L$28,921,593 for a difference of L$5,011,842. The USD equlivent of that L$5,011,842 is $15,305.

Now here is the sad part if that last piece of news wasn't bad enough, looking at the numbers for L$315/1 and above, we see that on 21 May there were only L$2,919,165 offered for sale. By 23 May that number had grown to L$10,262,001 for a difference of L$7,342,836. That means roughly L$2.3 million were moved up from below the L$315/1 offering rate in addition to the extra new L$5 million over the amount purchased during the two day period. How much L$ was purchased? I will edit this post as soon as I get the 23 May historical data but that will have to wait until tomorrow because I'm not staying up all night waiting.

I think you might have a long and disappointing wait. This (as one economist user put it) hyper-inflationary trend has been going on for months now-- ever since LindeX opened its doors. Will it get worse? That's anyone's guess at this point. LL keeps flooding the market with L$ and merchants/land renters still have bills to pay. Can't sell L$ at 285 if the market has millions for sale above 300.

Please people, its only been a day or so. things don't fix themselves overnight. as I said before, lets wait a week or so, and see what happens. judging from the market data, it looks like it is going to stabelize at 330.
