I would like to know why there is a spending limit of $150 USD on accounts younger than 45 days. If I am over 21 why can't I spend what I want.

From: Bob Lightstone I would like to know why there is a spending limit of $150 USD on accounts younger than 45 days. If I am over 21 why can't I spend what I want. Two reasons, I expect: a) to stop you spending too much on SL when you might not be familiar with it yet, and might not realise you could get or make the same things for less money; b) to stop credit card fraudsters joining up and instantly spending as much as they can on L$, quickly spending all the L$, then having the card company reverse the fraud transaction leaving LL picking up the pieces.

This was the reason quoted when the system was set up - I think the numbers have changed, but they limited transactions to reduce the risk of fraud.
