Hi, I am building a decent sized complex which will eventually house a multiplayer game. The game would be badly effected if people used scripts like the invis script... I noticed the No External Scripts setting, and am comptemplating using it.. but was wondering two things...
Does it disable scripts embeded in peoples jewlery etc?
and, will it peeve too many people off by making their glowing trinkets stop working?

It'll certainly stop active scripts working - but particle effects aren't active once initially started. You can rip the bling script out of your jewelry and it'll happily carry on blinging.

It'll also only work up to about 15m above the ground, unless they changed that.
So unless the game is small (doubtful), the setting probably won't do much for you.

Thank you greatly for your replies.
As a follow up, is the invisibility script a particle script? or am I better off asking that in the scripting forum?
(and the 15m probably might be problematic, depending on how SL measures hieight... the compound is only 3 stories high, (it is spread over 1536m^2, so at 4608^m2 of playable space it is not huge, but decent)... but the problem is it climbs up a mountain side on one axis... as long as SL measures height from the ground, and not from 'sea level' it won't be much of a problem... but I suspect they measure from 'sea level')

Indeed, they don't necessarily use scripts. They are just a textured object in which you shelter invisible behind a special texture. But you are still easy for the experienced to spot, so train your croupiers ! The best one uses two textures, and keeps swapping between them to prevent an occasional defect occurring. This swapping would be prevented if scripts were disabled, but a not-quite-so-reliable fixed invisibility would remain. Mind you, if you are thinking of preventing peeping, don't try. The camera can go all over the place while the avatar sits innocently in a corner. Anything seeable will be seen. The height is measured from the current ground surface, I believe.
