I want to sell L$ for the first time. Are there any good tricks or anything I should know first? Or is there a "Lindex for dummies" anywhere?

Sell immediately. The value of the L$ drops each day. With every minute you wait, you lose money.

Never Hold L$ in bulk. Always hold US$ and buy L$ when you
need it for immediate payment of something.

And always sell for a price just below market to ensure a quick
execution.

Sell the same way you convert money when traveling, as you need it. The prices fluctuate radically and daily so you come out about even if you just dump excess cash when you have it.

Remember that the difference between selling 100,000L at 310/$ or 290/$ is only $22US. You're won't reap vast sums of difference waiting for the market to climb a few points.

*gets a roll of ducttap*

Depends how much patience you have. IF you post @ the current block you'll wait anything from 1 hour to like 48 hours. There isn't really a strategy sicne it's not really a traders market and the margine is too big, however Chris Linden told us last week that it's going to look a little more like a traders market in a few weeks. I usually post on the current block or 2 or 3 lower, waiting for the L$ to go up in value overnight. Seems all the tards come out around 6am PST and about 3pmPST and post at 'stupid low' values. Overnight and early morning it usually goes up.

sell at the going rate, not slightly under. it always sells without fail, usually in less than 12 hours.

Sell immediatly.

I hope you won't complain anymore about the L$ value after such ridiculous advices.
Following your advice i could sell immedialty 3,000,000L$ at 312L$/USD

Do you really want that ?
If yes, why ?

Because if you do and the next large block seller posts at 313L$/USD you get a mini panic and some people must be profiting from these runs on the Linden.

Umm, thanks :p

Also, where do the rl dollars get credited into? Do you receive a paycheck (hehe) or does it go into Paypal?

But really, there is no FAQ anywhere?

They go into your US$ balance.
When you have a US$ balance, you can request a check, or PayPal withdrawal. You get a link that says "process credit" right beside your US$ balance.

But the thing is there is more FABNAQ(Frequently Asked But Not Answered Questions) than FAQ:P

Do it do it! Lots of cash to be made by pushing down the market for a couple days then withdrawing everything :) Eco 101 buy low sell high, while making your own lows :) Too bad the margins arn't smaller! :D

The second I get L$, I sell.

The L$ has done nothing but fall. I'm not going to get caught holding the bag. If you've really got L$3mm, I feel sorry for you. You've seen your L$ go from being worth around $12k USD --> $9.5k USD. But hey, some people love pain.

See you below L$361.

I suppose.

But I rather be that than a bagholder who watches my L$ diminish in worth every day.

To each his own!

This crashing lindex is an interesting thing to watch, do you think SL could have a depression, or even a subsequent war and/or phase of hyperproduction/new deal to recover from said depression?

Given that people aren't actually experiencing hardship in this simulation(aside from LL of course, but they can take care of themselves), maybe it would be a fun little excercise just to watch the shit hit the fan. So long as nobody is in too deep that they would lose their RL house should SL fail, but a person getting in that deep would kinda deserve the hole that they dug for themselves. If you're a crappy artist you deserve to starve. If you're in virtual real estate all you are really doing is renting somebody elses server resources in bulk and then marking them up for profit. I mean come on, do you really expect such a thing to be a sustainable business model? Anybody else could easily do the same thing and just cut you out whenever they feel like it!

It isn't like we are peddling rare resources here, there are an infinite amount of things, no true rarity. It is like trying to sell diamonds in a world without the deBeers monopoly, would it be right for jewlers to demand high prices for diamonds if debeers suddenly found themselves unable to make them artificially rare?

For the big sellers stop putting so much up for sale at once. Anytime there is an amount over 2 million at one rate, it will no be touched and constantly undercut for weeks.
