Make your prediction here, and I will give 1000 L$ to the closest prediction plus you'll have the honor being super savvy dude.

I predict it'll bounce up to 3.50

There are ways IGE can manipulate GOM to IGE's favor. Recognize that IGE has plenty of experience in trading game currencies in other communities. For one, a lower value for the L$ where the spread does not change means that people will need to buy more L$ to buy the same goods in SL giving IGE more money as more blocks are sold.

Large blocks of a million L$ in the sell column on GOM usually don't sell, they just sit there as everyone undercuts the price they are placed at. If the sell-off is too huge, nothing gets sold off because there are no buyers, which could be the intention.

With the volume of currency and the large blocks placed, IGE can drop the value quite low, depending on how much loss they are willing to take. As the L$ gets close to the $2.00 per unit level it might be worth taking a risk on buying it up to resell slowly, so that they actually sell.

It will be telling if IGE continues to move it's blocks down in price, or if they just leave them at a certain level as a barrier to set the price.

The blocks are being nibbled at over the course of the day. Its going to be a slow process thought to fill out those large blocks.

If it is indeed an attempt to manipulate the market then IGE are losing money in the process. After all they are buying at $3.5 a block, yet presumably have place blocks below that value. Add in fees and they must be losing a chunk from this.

Actually, IGE is buying L$ blocks at $3.35 per unit and selling at 4.098 per unit at this moment.

Y'all are forgetting to adjust for IGE's fees/costs.
They are not quite getting so much.

I don't know, today I've both sold and bought the same $L twice now at a profit each time, and I'm not at a US$.02 teir. Imagine someone like IGE who can have a US$.02 teir and are buying and selling the same 100's of $L for a profit on the same day.

IGE is good for dabbling in other currencies for other games, maybe they're making such a huge killing on one game that they think they can drive out the competitors in SL and thus consolidate. It's exactly the strategy used by Wal-Mart - undercut and sell extremely short until your competitor dies first.

well here is my opinion......follow the big companys moves, we have not the slightest ideas of what is being said behind closed doors......tier 2 companys (and im refering to the ones in RL not sl) operate under the radar. If you follow the front companys moves you will prosper......just wait 3 months and you will see......everything will be ok.
