I just noticed that 13 million L$ is on sale at 3.37 at GOM. I also just noticed that 13 million L$ is gone from the IGE account based on the leaderboard. I entertain the hilarious possibility that IGE is dumping their L$ at GOM, highly speculative but how ironic would that be :)

I honestly don't think IGE has any problem buying nor selling $L ... in fact IGE Wheeling was logged at Le Cadre and I kept seeing him pop in and out, in and out... thats a good sign they are making alot of transactions hehe

This has been debated the last few days in Land and Economy. IGE avs do not have GOM accounts, but there's ways round that of course.

IGE would be insane to not sell up a lot of their holdings considering LL's intentions to run an exchange themselves. I am sure they are not insane.

True, but they would stop buying if they were that worried about... and IGE will still have a business in SL when LL starts in world exchanges

actually if it is ige, its a smart move cause they own alot of linden dollars unlike gome who only held linden dollars. if the market crashed at gom then ige's linden dollars would go down in value also. so by putting up such a large sum they keep the market from falling past 3.37 per block.

very smart move indeed

if you notice 12M back into IGE accounts on 10/3, then we know.

Not really, it keeps the market from raising past 3.37, putting more downward pressure on it.

GOM closing is actually good for IGE, they can fix their prices to pretty much what they want. They will be looking more at LL's plans, and if they have any sense, be reducing their holdings (perhaps via GOM for one :D )

Ahh I didnt think that way, I wonder if they (IGE) put a block at 3.37 to collect anything below that ?? In fact IGE is still buying at 3.35 it seems. Hmmm...this is interesting

but with the news gom is closing would that not cause a mass panic with many people and the price would drop i would think.
I'm no economist but seems to make sense

Its a possibility. But I was thinking it might be the opposite. GOM still has the cheapest buy prices for L$ compared to IGE and Anshe. So people better stock up on L$ cheap before you are forced to pay $3.89 a block or thereabouts.

I think IGE will increase prices as soon as the "market" is closed.

Robin posted in the hotline forum that this account had been frozen on request by ige while they sorted out management etc, the extra amount on gom can be worked out by seeing where all anshes and guni's money seems to have dissapeared from off the leaderboard

so IGE requested freeze of their own accounts? This was little confusing to understand. Curiously, the 13 million is gone and L$ is back up to 3.5 almost

Yes from what robin said it looks that way, she posted about it here /invalid_link.html

Anshe also mentioned in another thread she had 16mil on gom which i presumed is why she is missing from the leaderboard, posted here
