From: slick McCoy I bet it has nothing to do with the guy selling at 939/$. This would be about the time where Linden Labs should step in and backup their attempts to get the valuation to L$250. But I doubt they will. Cause whatever they have done has been a complete failure. They better fire their new Econ Guru and get somebody who will tell it straight. Stipends are the death of SL.. The idea is valid, but its execution has been terrible. Instead of giving citizens a flat rate every week, they should be giving out a random amount based on population growth/decline along with a checksum against active/nonactive accounts. So if nobody got a stipend for 10wks, it would signal that too much money is in the economy and that sinks are working overtime to reduce the supply. Or vice versa.. But the dictatorship at LLHQ will not accept such... Its the King's way or the highway..

Oh, for crying out loud, this is not caused by stipends. It's caused by the land glut that has hit Second Life & the exodus of users from the mainland to private island rentals. But mainly its the overall growing bad taste people have in their mouths of Linden Labs. One of the only things that can save the L$, and probably Second Life as a whole, is for it to be to sold to a company that can manage it better, because you are right about thing, Linden Labs has failed miserably.

I'll buy Second Life for US$1.00 Dollar...

From: slick McCoy I bet it has nothing to do with the guy selling at 939/$. Probably not - it has been stated that the daily average is volume weighted. A comparison of the average to supply available (and reasonably likely to be sold) bears that out.

I'd be interested in knowing who sold that large chunk for so little. There's the real culprit in destroying the market value.

For crying out loud, an economy should be able to withstand a single sale order like that. This is CRAZY.
What about a minimum floor for sell orders? Yes, it's artificial, but hello, SL is an artificial world. I have no problenm with that at all.
