Hi everyone,
I have been experimenting with the buy and sell options of the L exchange. I have noticed when I sell L I can set the sell price. For example, I can say I want to sell 1000L at 279L/1USD; the market then places my sell order on the market until it is bought.
When I try and buy L, it only lets me say how many L I'd like to buy or the USD$ amount, but it doesn't let me choose how much I'm willing to pay for the Linden. For example, there were sell orders on the market trying to sell their L for 281L/1USD$ which is what I wanted because I was buying with USD, but when I entered the number of Linden wanted or the USD$ amount I would like to buy, it gave me an estimated price per US dollar as 276/1USD and says that is my estimated buying price. But I wanted to buy the lot of 281L/1USD. What's up with that? Any ideas?

Ahh I have seen that the more L I buy the better price I get, up to a point. That helps a little, but they should really let you set the buying price. Like a buy order in Forex...

I think that they are thinking that people usually buy Linden to purchase goods within game, and that to allow someone to set a price outside of the immediate supply of Linden would cause a nightmare of people asking help why there aren't getting their purchased Linden immediately.
Conversely, having a trader's classification with specialty interface could allow for more freedom in setting buy and sell prices.

If there are L$2000 for sale at 281 you can buy those by entering L$2000 in the wanted box, assuming, of course, that there are not more L$ at a 'better' price of 282, 283, etc, as you would automatically be sold those first, making it cheaper for you... The price you are actually charged by LindeX will be the calculated cost of L$2000 at 281 per US$ PLUS $0.30 commision/transaction fee/programers beer fund/insert favourite charge here. 2000 @ 281 = $7.12 commision $0.30 Total cost $7.42 Equivalent L$ price L$2000 for $7.42 = 269.5
