I've been trying to find a list, or map of sims and their rating as well as terraformability. Does anyone have one? Is there one posted here in the forums some where? In essence, I'd like a list with sim names, whether the sim is rated PG or M, and whether it's an old terraformable sim, or a "new" sim. I am looking to buy land to "settle down" and I am very frustrated because it seems that all I do is fly around the "SL" planet, only to find that the land for sale is not what I am looking for.
Thanks for your help!

Ravi, Haney produced a terraforming land limit list back in september which is found here... /16/0d/22697/1.htmlIf its not on the list and on the mainland its likely to have 4m terraforming rules. Jamie.

I'm in the same boat as Ravi. Is there a list anywhere of the sims in order. I read somewhere else that sims 1-75 are the oldest. How do we find out which sims these are?

I'm not near a map now so I can't give you a comprehensive list, but the Luna-Welsh area (and surrounding sims) are the oldest I believe (DaBoom, Clementina, Zoe, Taber, etc.). Then the color sims ( Gray, Aqua, Plum, Green, etc.) are also oldish and have less restricted terraforming.

There's also a sim terraformability list on the wiki: https://secondlife.com/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=Sim+Terraformability+Listthough I don't know if it's different from the one in the forums mentioned above.

No, it's the same list.
Can it be assumed that anything that has a high terraformability is probably an old sim?
Even Avalon and Garmisch?

Even Avalon and Garmisch? Avalon, yes, Garmisch, no (it's a snow sim, right?). That said, Avalon is a private sim. The -first- private sim, actually, that was sold. But anything with a 40+/- is almost definitely an old sim.

Jamie was the first one to tell me these limits and guide me to info about them on the Forums as well. It's nice to see you've formatted it all candy-dandy on your website, Jamie. Thanks for your help again.

I posted in a different thread about this same issue, but didn't get an answer; maybe someone here can help me. I too am looking for a nice, green, flat 512 but am hung up on the PG vs Mature issue. What IS the real difference? I'm not looking to do any scrumping, but what about my use of choice four letter words in conversation? In other words, will I be punished for my language if I buy a PG lot? What exactly are the limitations?

Unless someone has a stick up their ass you can usually get away with some swearing in a PG sim. But if there are a lot of people around you have to watch your mouth. And you can't walk around naked or build penis towers or anything.

Great Resource! Thanks! One thing tho. I know from personal experience that at least two of the sim's terraforming limits are inccorrect. Both Refugio and Stanford are something like +/- 40m instead of 4m as listed.

If you're looking for a quasi-history of grid expansion, check out http://www.slmaps.com. You can put a date in there and see a map of the grid at that time. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to account for private islands anymore. But it was quite out of date on those as it stands. Seems to be up-to-date on the mainland sims though.
