L$150+ per m2.

I went and had a look at it, just another ordinary new continent. Pretty, yes.

Obviously somebody missed the US$ thing and they think they're paying Lindens, which would be a STEAL. OR maybe its some insider just trying to make the stats look good. Hmmm.

HEY, whoever you are, better call the help line and tell them you goofed! Why not just wait a month and buy 40 times as much land with your $10,000!

I could not help thinking that making your top bid some crazy amount like $50,000.oo US would in affect win you any bid, would it not. The reason this makes sence is because of the counter bids. I hope the bid stands property values go threw the roof! :D lol

This has actually happened a number of times. Always just a typo.

If they decide not to actually buy land won on an auction, don't they have to pay $25?

Someone also said that people just don't pay anything. The land is then re-auctioned in a week or so. That sometimes this is done as a spoiler for an auction.

I think it's probable that whoever bid $5001.00 on it up from four hundered something really meant for it to be 501.00. Since the bidding is automatic, this might have been the amount the person put in as a max or it could be a linden error in how it's posting, hard to say. But I kind of doubt that it's for real.

The results are in and this winning bidder doesn't seem to exist in SL?

actually, in the summary detail at the top it says the winning bid was $10USD. so in fact he may have got the bargain of a lifetime. :)

What's with the timestamps on the bids, anyhoo?

When I looked at it, it did say the bid was $10. I almost bid on it based on that, but spooked by the $10,000 listing.

Yah, saw the current bid standing got stuck at $10 USD even though the bids were up to 10K.
Wonder what exactly was going on...

Oh, so far as the timestamps... Think when you enter a max amount it just reverts back to that time as the last bid placed, because it was the last bid you personally placed.
