Good evening all,

Is there anywhere I could get a current list of all Sims? I have found the list in the LSL Wiki, however it was last updated in July, and admits to missing 10% then.

Sounds like something you should suggest to Rathe Underthorn (the inventor)! That's a great idea I'd use too. And ya welkies! :)

This is one of those "observation affect the measurement" things the quantum physisicstisiticisitici - ummmmm - scientists are always going on about.
You can choose a sim at random by throwing a dart at your monitor - but such an act makes the measurement of the chosen sim impossible - due to the flames and sparks leaping from you now black screen.
My colleagues, though, swear that just before the explosion, they saw the dart hitting "Purden" - if that's any help.

The real funny part is a dart toss is exactly what I want to replicate.

For those looking for a little more spontaneity in life you can search a random sim by clicking the Random link on the home page of Roam Search at http://www.roamsearch.com now.

Hey RATHE here's another one for ya!

Any way to sort sims based on the lengths of their names?

2 letter ones like No and Mi... up to the really big ones like Sandbox - Weapons testing (no damag!

Outstanding. This is going to make my life a lot simpler.

And everyone, look for the results of this randomness starting in the next issue of Meteverse Messenger.

State of the Roam project
03-14-2006 14:00
What is the state of the ROAM search project? I've been trying to get my mitts on Rathe for a while now, with little luck. And today I noted that two sims I know have closed are still listed, while anouther I know has opened is missing. So it appears that the data in the ROAM database is not being updated.

Assueming a worst case, and ROAM is no longer being actively maintained, does anyone know a diffrent way to randomly pick a sim from all that are out there? Or get a list of all the sims that are currently on the grid?

Well, a random feature already exists on Roam - right on the main page.

Gee, if I'm not mistaken, that used to be an option on the map -- there was a button that listed all the sims alphabetically.... you could select the name of a sim, and then hit the TP button, which would take you to the telehub in that sim.

I was having a lovely time working my way down the list, exploring, when LL discontinued it.

Here's an idea: BRING IT BACK.

Half the fun of SL is exploring what other people have done in their sims. Now the only way I can find any sim is on the map _grid_, which is damn clumsy.
