At the last economy roundtable, Tbone noted that the "economy stats" webpage was up, and he would be interested in hearing what other metrics the community would like to see.
Doubtless, some of what we ask for will be considered sensitive and confidential, but we might as well put out a wish list.
I will start it -- please add your own and I will try to aggregate the list and present it to LL.
A few things I'd like to see added to our weekly metrics:
- outstanding float (either average or point-in-time for a week) - money sink activity over that week - total land supply, distinguishing mainland grid and publicly available private islands - active population figures (weekly record of the Population figure on the home page) - a breakout of the "Payments" category in the Transaction report into more useful sub-categories (if possible) - guidance on premium vs basic member numbers (doubtful they will share)
... pls add more

# AVG and/or MAX concurrent users online (might not be seen as "economic" data but is a good indicator for "real users" versus accounts) # total number of minutes spend by users in the system; summing up the online time of all users (another indicator for the intensity the system is used) From: Forseti Svarog - a breakout of the "Payments" category in the Transaction report into more useful sub-categories (if possible) If i understand "payments" correctly this is any transfer of money user-user with the pay functionality. I fear there wont be much chance for the Lindens to find out the reason for such payments.

I think that an economy roundtable could be more effective if it was presenting Philip with statistics rather than the other way around.
For example, we could get a collection of the top land owners and sellers and find away for them to anonymously contribute their financial information.
That sort of information could make it easier for Philip to make smart choices.

Developers can then measure which new concepts most improve the products and incorporate them into the game in future patches."

blaze, if you can figure out a way to make this anonymous yet difficult to game so the data stays credible, I look forward to seeing the specs. in the meantime, a lot of people responded to Nexus' post re: monetary policy. Well, I don't think we have enough data to make meaningful conclusions. How were you all thinking about analyzing the problem, and what data points do you need to do it?
