I'm looking at various First Land available, and I'm wondering what the value of traffic is when making your first purchase? Some land has low traffic and other has really high traffic(comparatively between like 3 and 70). Does this give any increased value to the land? Also, do considerations like the availablity of additional plots around First Land make a difference? Would it be better to buy the higher traffic plot though there aren't many lots next to it or to buy the low traffic plots with current neighbor availability?

It's kind of a moot point, really, since traffic bonuses are being phased out.

It is a moot point when it comes to dwell bonuses, but it may not be when it comes to potential business opportunities.
If the parcel is located in a high traffic area because of some inherent quality, then it may be a good place to build shop and attract clients. Although, in SL, it can be argued that location is not important since most customers and visitors teleport directly to a spot, bypassing the surrounding area.
My guess is that the parcels with high traffic you are looking at are artificially high due to new residents looking for their first land and the vultures that circle around them trying to purchase their land from them at a steal. Once the sim has been bought, the traffic will go way down.
Having said that, a corner parcel can bring more in resale if its located next to a large real estate holders non-sold land. Also, land on the water's edge (assuming it is permanent water) can be more valuable.

High traffic is good if you want company. High traffic is bad if you want privacy.

Traffic for one day means nothing - to know if it's really a place that gets a lot of people wandering through it you'd need to look over time. One person going AFK could raise the dwell for one day and make a parcel seem more attractive (if that's what you are looking for).
