...there were several resident membership choices: Basic = free Bon Vivant = $15 a month but includes X Lindens that are bought with the $15 (or other amount that's just an example) Premium = as it is now Builder = like premium only no stipend and raises the prim limit on any land you own by X amount
I'm all for choices - we live our Second Lives in different ways, maybe there should be different membership choices.

Very interesting idea.
I floated another idea about letting people "buy" an extra percentage of prims for their property for some price in Lindens. Wonder what the technical limitations would be on that?

That probably would benefit the Land barons rather than builders, giving them the third premium high prim counts land to rent/ "sell" I like the other variants though.

I would prefer an option to forgo the stipend and get extra tier.
$10 for existing premium or $10 for your first 1536 sm tier
I bet a lot of people would choose another 1024 of tier over 500 a week in stipends.

what about programmers and content creators? Programmers don't need prims. all weneed is a seat in a sandbox and some hot pockets.

Bwuhahaha I suggested this a year or so ago, too. I think it could be interesting as it gets around the "I don't mind paying for the game but I won't buy currency" mindset. For a mere 15 or 10 dollars a month you can be rich, and rent your home if you want one. And yes, I had thought too about the give-up-stipend-for-extra-tier idea, too, and I think that's good. The categories were just hastily thrown up there and I'm sure you can come up with better, more finely-tuned ones. The core idea of having several membership categories is what I actually think is the important part.

I like the other variants though. I was thinking in terms of a set amount not a percentage - like, say, you are a builder so you get 250 extra prims or something, but only if you own land. I agree, though - my categories need a lot of fine-tuning.

From: Zany Golem Now the only problem is wich one would I choose? I think you'd try one, then switch after a few months to another category... stopping when you found the right fit, but moving on when your needs changed.
