I am becoming more and more concerned about Lindex. All the voalitility notwithstanding.
I truly miss GOM and the emphasis they put on development and detail. If there was an issue it was adressed publicly through their forums and emails. There was a level of transparency that kept you abreast of issues and market changes. I have seen all of 2 posts by LL staff concerning the Lindex.

As Lindex becomes more and more identical to the framework of GOM I see them retracting further and further from the most important aspect of any retail enterprise.

Customer Service.

Why is there no support email addy for Lindex? Who is in charge? Why does it take so long to post credits? How many people are involved to handle the workload? Are there any assurances that the money is safe? I mean, were talking about 100's of thousands of dollars here. What policies are in place to protect fraud or manipulation?

At least IRL my bank has a customer service representative and branch manager that I can have a conversation with, as well as a phone number I call. I am all for a "hands-off" approach to self government...But this is REAL MONEY we are talking about here. Am I asking too much? Why do other game currency markets do such a better job than our own home-grown product? At least I can pick up the phone and talk to someone when I have a question or concern. The few emails I have sent to LL always seem to take days to get a responce.

I am not a financial expert, but I do know retail. I treat my customers in SL as I would want to be treated. I encourage competition as it drives development. When youre the only game in town you can charge whatever you like. Who is competing for the money that the Lindex charges in fee's? I know its a considerable amount, Ive done the math.

I for one am willing to put my RL money where my mouth is. I am willing to invest a considerable sum to ensure marketplace competition. If it werent for Lowe's we would all be paying $10 for a nail at Home Depot. If it werent for Ford, Chevy could placate us with whatever would ensure the largest profit margin. Competition for my dollar/euro gives me choices in value and service. I am a capitalist, a consumer and a LIVE PERSON.

Is there anyone else who feels this way? How difficult would it be to resurrect GOM? Could the sofware be purchased? I am very familiar with the circumstances of their demise. Am I being "Chicken Little" and projecting a decline in service and an increase in rates? How much would it take? 5K usd? 10K? Is it even viable? I am curious as to the opinions of the forum. I realize it is such a small representation of SL as a whole...but isnt competition a good thing?

BTW...SL is a vocation for ME...please put the "It's only a game" responses where they belong.

Why should LindeX be treated differently than the rest of SL?
