Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to abandon some land to LL, to make it protected under Governor Linden.

for an example if I buy a sim and lay out certain roads to join the linden road that passes through. would i be able to abandon that land under my roads to LINDEN LAB to make it protected?

looking forward to hear about it.

Thanks.

I don't think you would have any say over it once you abandoned it.

If you buy a private island sim, then you can't abandon it. You're charged for the whole sim, no matter what.

If you buy a mainland sim, then the land that you abandon will be put up for auction by LL. And in most cases, you'll still be charged tier for a whole sim each month, even though you abandoned part of it.

It sounds like you are trying to help LL get their Public Works Department going by doing the work for them.

I think it is possible that LL would go for that, and instead of putting it up for sale they would be willing to accept it and extend the umbrella of LL land over it...But in most places where they have roads that are planned to build, and just have not built them, the land is ALREADY protected, and you still could not build on it anyway, even if you owned everything around it.

In any event, I would check with LL first, before you did abandon any land, so that they knew that you wanted to "abandon" the land TO THEM....or call it a donation....

That is, if I am understanding what it is that you are thinking of doing.

Otherwise, it would be what was said earlier. They will just automatically take the abandoned land and put it up for auction without any care of what you have done with it.
