What's the deal with Azure Islands?

Does anyone know how to get information for these private sims, like what the building/scripting restrictions are and how "rent to own" works?

Their website seems mostly under construction and they don't answer emails to support.

Some of the sims look interesting, but I'm not willing to plunk down money without knowing what I'm buying.

Have you tried to IM one the people involved? I have found them to be very responsive on IMs.

Well I was hoping for a formal statement of what the rules are rather than just an IM.

Their old rental units used to give a notecard, not sure about the new version 3's. All in all, its best to IM one of the Azure officers. I'm sure they have a notecard written up.

Sorry about that -- the website is being overhauled by Nexus right at the moment.

You can contact myself, Nexus Nash, splat1 Edison, Chage McCoy, or David Jacobs for information. We've got a notecard which I can give you a copy of.

Btw -- which support email did you send to? I'll need to find out where that one's gone. (It's a address that just forwards a copy to all the admins I listed above)

ok ok ok so I chime up every time I get.. but I don't know any other way to support my favorite parts of SL.

Note my statements are one's of customer experince, not as a respresentative.

You can choose to "rent" "rent to own" or "buy" (don't know if that's changed).

When you "buy" you pay practicly 1st land price!

I have a 4000m lot and pay teir in lindens. For my location and size is $2800L a month or about $760L a week

The same lot would be a lot more to buy and a teir in real usd of about $25 (I pay about $10usd worth of linden instead).

The land, unlike other rented land... give you rights to ban, set music, permissions, landing points.. etc.

It seemed and seems to good to be true, but I've been there quite a while now. *it was 2 sims when I started!

Blueman, what's the term?

Blueman, how long does the tenancy run? Is it month-to-month, week-to-week or what?

In other words, if the owner decides to sell the sim or close it, how much notice does he/she have to give you that your tenancy will not be renewed?

We work at the 'per second' level, you can pay as much or as little as you like, whenever you like. We have a terminal system on each plot which manages it.

In terms of tenancy; while it is possible for us to sell the islands, it is not something we will do, like Anshe we are not in SL for the short term (I have been in SL for two years, Nexus has been in for over three). If myself, and Nexus decide to leave SL, we will arrange with the tenants who have bought deeds to setup some form of co-operative to manage the land in a similar style to how Neaultenburg(sp?) is run, or if this is not possible or feasible to arrange, we will refund any setup fees paid on those deeds. This will not happen without a minimum of a months notice (which is the maximum amount of time the terminals will hold).
