Maybe I need new glasses, but I fail to see new sims east of Waterhead on the map.

If you don't zoom in, they don't show up. I'm not sure why.

Seems to me bulk auction of sims is only aimed at the land barons and therefore can only be a success. If one takes in to account the want to be land barons, and with all the have a go at certain well known individuals; (which privately sounds like sour grapes and or envy to me or do we still have a problem with go get um successful females.) There must be a heck of a lot of aspireing land barons.ergo a success bulk auction is almost a given.A little like shooting fish in a barrel.

TY, realized it myself after rezooming. Seems like there are no textures at all in existence for these new sims. And this seems to confuse the map application.

I made a visit already. Beautiful land.

if u visit a infonet terminal - or own one - they talk about the mass land sales under linden news in 'important announcments' - this time the sales are set differently (see the terminals for more details) but hopefully there would be more bids from other corps -maybe even a group bid from peeps who want to own land for anouther reason?

i have an idea for such use - a discworld landmass - renting houses in discworld style and holding events at the opera house and broken/mended drum - all the land themed to such and maybe even to diffent areas of discworld (ankh morpork - sto lat - uberwald etc) - as i have mentioned it here and have read the tos about IP rights - hopefully i can claim this as mine and casey bentons idea and (landbaron) cannot use the afformentioned names - this idea has already been sent of for terry pratchetts approval (on the basis we have a shop selling his books - L$ for real products or inworld) - as i have met terry pratchett at various events in the uk (having 3 books signed by him aswell - gloat) i hope to get this aproval!

their is a group inworld for this project - 'discworld land project' - please join if you are intrested - also consider joining the 'discworld' group - a group for discworld fans to talk and point out events/products based on discworld books

They really need 4- 6- or 9-sim bulk auctions... long strips of land like the Marmela-Gramela-Doesburg one make for the worst sim-border problems when you have competing surface textures and terraforming.

You can move them, kinda sorta. Please check out Bermuda, St. Martin, Montserrat, Antigua, Barbados. This is the bulk pack that Cyberland got. You can see how we stacked some of them up so we didn't have as much common border.

Of course, there are border problems, as you can see. One bulk sim buyer, who seemed to very much love tropical islands in another bulk area, decided to set both a lush pine forest, AND a snow filled north pole winter wonderland, directly next to the tropical island sims that were being made by two other bulk sim buyers in this bulk area. I'll leave the motivations to the viewer though, as frankly I'm not too sure what to think about this myself. :)

All I can say about the terrain problems is that I'm sure glad we decided to stack ours up. In retrospect, a single north/south strip may have even made the most sense from a terrain border perspective, but I really wasn't anticipating the lush pine forest popping up nextdoor a few days later. Fortunately we arranged them in such a way that we didn't end up next to BOTH the lush pine forest and the snow filled north pole winter wonderland. :)

Now, even with all this said about these.. unusual terrain selections.. I have to say that overall Cyberland did find the bulk sim experiment to be both a genuine pleasure to participate in, and a noticable boost to the bottom line. We hope to see these bulk sims come back as well. Given the terrain tactics however, I'd like to see them in only blocks of 10+ regions, so that more contiguous areas can be developed without so much fear of what terrain another bulk land buyer may choose to make your terrain less appealing. Through my experience with this program, I'm definately comfortable in saying that larger, contiguous areas are of more value to the eventual end user than terrain that is changing abruptly every sim or two.

Are the bulk sims still there? I couldn't find them.

I hit a couple of InfoNet terminals (Pathfinder and Ahern) and couldn't find anything in the important announcements regarding this. If you could cut and paste your notecard you got regarding this to this thread, it would be much appreciated.
