We don't have html on a prim yet. You can hack the F1 help to open other URLs though. You can also use llLoadURL to click on a prim and open your web browser to a defined page.
Thanks for that Eloise. I was pondering on that last night.
There are actually two separate technical and one economic issue to overcome.
The first is egress from Second Life into AW, and of course the other is entry from AW to SL.
The latter problem I have solved insomuch as by programming an object in AW by the use of the bump/activate/url command and/or by using a one way visible object I can (in theory) walk through (say a gateway/arch) into SL via a SLURL
However there is another moral issue to address and that is what SLURL do I use?
At present there may be one obvious example target and that would be Anshe Chung's Dreamland Estate homepage on the web. But I am concerned that by linking in an unauthorized way I could compromise the other website or TOS et al.
Of course there is yet another very interesting issue to highlight. Not everyone in SL would want or is able to write complex scripts or build complex properties. AW is far easier to achieve all of this and the graphical quality of the VR effect in AW is similar to SL. In fact in theory talented AW World Owners have far more control over the VR environment, than Estate Owners in SL
In fact I would venture to suggest that many aspects of AW (in particular the easy build and "script" options) together with one major AW advantage of vast virtual space, would have an appeal for many SL people. The only thing holding people back IMHO would be the like-minded community/theme point and being able to build in an un-constricted way with every AW build options being open (Not the case in all AW public worlds)
How would Linden Labs feel about easy entry and exit from SL into AW (and the reverse) and World Owners in AW charging rent to interested SL residents payable of course in Linden Dollars.....................................................................
