Donation of Land to Big Cat Rescue

Is there anyone who would like to donate land to set up a Big Cat Rescue? I am new to SL but think I could bring to it some new animations and messages from exotic cats that my donating land partner may find a way to benefit from. I would like to create a second life that is built on saving endangered species and protecting animals and habitat rather than just participate in another war making life that is too much like the one we live in. In the other world I have created a sanctuary for 142 lions, tigers, bobcats, etc. on 40 acres. Perhaps we could set it up as a theme park. Any ideas? Any takers?

I'm not sure what you are proposing here... another furry sim?

I have thousands of exotic cat photos that I could contribute and some drawings and maybe some animations with the help of some of our volunteers. What I am hoping to do is create an awareness in SL of Big Cat Rescue to get people thinking about values such as preserving habitat, saving wildlife, etc. Each of our cats has a special message about how to succeed in life and how to reconnect with Spirit. I can envision a place in SL where the visitor would find a new cat and new inspiring message at every turn.

I don't care about making money in SL, but don't want to spend it either, so I am looking for a partner with vision who has land and can see a benefit in offering this to visitors. I obviously have a lot to learn about how things work here.

Is this tied into a RL endeavour? if so, could you provide a web link? I may be interested. If it's not related to RL efforts though, I don't get what you're proposing.

Yes, we are working in the real world as the largest accredited rescue facility for big cats in the world. Our web site gets more than 1,000,000 hits per day because we are always seeking out new ways to spread the word. This would be a Win-Win situation for all involved as it drives traffic in both directions. I think Second Life is going to be HUGE and this is a great way to reach audiences on both sides with a message about the other.

I'm not sure how ambitious your plans are for a SL space, but we do have some land available... We should talk.

Windsong:

Welcome to SL. I am new to SL also and do not have any land yet but I applaud those here who have already expressed an interest to work with you.

One aspect of SL that is very powerful for any organization (profit or not) is the ability to create a virtual 3D experience for their website visitors and clients. You can have a direct link on your website to your SL parcel that a visitor or client can go to to "experience" your conservation message. Your website visitors, of course, would need to become SL members to gain access to the world.

Good luck!

Windsong -

I live a couple blocks away from the Big Cat Rescue... at least, I'm assuming it's the same one... you might want to look into putting the address, or at least city, somewhere findable on the website... I've been looking around there 30 minutes and the most I can find is that it's in Florida ;)

Also, some of your links lead to places that have nothing to do with the link...

That aside, I can tell everyone that this is a legit oranization, and what they do for those beautiful creatures is absolutely wonderful.

Anyway, I don't have any land to donate, but I just wanted to wave to a neighbor :-D

I hope you find someone who'll donate some to you... I can see this being set up to look really nice in a furry sim or something. :)
