I don't have the skill to build or script. Are there any other ways that I can make money in SL (aside from buying it)?
Better yet, is there someone who is willing to teach me both?

There are building classes. Just check events daily.
But if you aren't tech savy you most likely have better people skill then the tech savy. So host events, become the PR of the a tech savy, etc.

If you're not learning building, scripting or texturing becasue they're fun for you and are instead looking to make some L$ to spend by working those skills, please reconsider. Nothing will suck the fun out of SL faster than turning it into a job. There are other ways of getting a few L$ into your pocket that you can have fun doing as well - you have to keep your eyes open for 'em, or invent it outright. Frans' suggestions are great starting places. Ask around, see what people are up to, get to know the markets out there and find yourself a nitch that works for you both in earning L$ and keeping SL a fun lpace to play in.

Vedas, as an extension of what Jillian said... find what is already special about you from your First Lifeāand if you have an inkling or a firm grasp already, WUNDERFUL! Bring that into Second Life and spring it forward. For example, if you find yourself helping friends point out great places to visit in SL, you may become a tourguide. Or, if you can explain how a product works well, perhaps you'll want to do some documentation (manuals)? Or even proofread them? I do both of these things... and a few others. There are a LOT of social jobs open, like Public Relations as Frans mentions, and many clubs have a gamut of jobs open. If you have good feelings about it, give it a spin. One of the main things here is simply experience. You've lived through it, and even if things didn't as go as well as you wanted, you've learned. You have that experiential knowledge that cannot be taken away, and on you go.

Since UR relatively new I suggest U don't dismiss building so soon. I wasn't interested in building and I didn't even know how to make a prim for the first 6 mos of my 2nd life.
Now I like to occasionally fart around and make stuff and I surprise myself sometimes....I'm still taking baby steps but I wanted to try it.
Yep if U turn ANYTHING U do in SL into a job.....be it building, scripting or hosting UR gonna just resent it. I don't mean if U do it 'cuz U truely enjoy it. This is just me but once I offered to host an event once a nite for a week....longest week of my life. I'm a people person and am a decent host but I resented having to BE ON-LINE at a certain set time each nite. I prefer to come and go as I please. But now I know hosting, except on possibly rare occasions, is not my bag.
Buying Lindens and being free from that demand is better then the alternative.
