Why is it we never see a small buy order say for 5000 L's or less. Could it be most that buy L's don't even know there is a Advanced section in Lindex or they just buy all there L's in game and pay what ever it is at the time?
Maybe LL need to let everyone know how to place orders. I bet over 1/2 of the ppls in the game have no idea how or that they even can place buy orders.
And just who is it that is placing the buy orders we see now cuase they all seem to be in the hurdeds of thousands of L's which is hundreds of USA dallors. I bet most in SL that buy L's spend like 10 USA dallors at a time.

Maybe both options be available in Basic mode so people could see that, and also put the limit order one on top. Most people may not know how it works and would just put in amount in the first empty space they see and press the first button that appears after it.

Because people buying "small" amounts are buying for a purchase NOW. A small order is ineffiecent($0.30US fee). If someone was planning ahead they could place a limit buy order for what they want, but if they were planning ahead they wouldn't place a small one.

Because you can only place a limit buy order if you have US$ credit with LL, and usually the only people who have that are people who've previously cashed out and are buffering money for tier, to whom small amounts of L$ are meaningless.

MartAnthony: Another reason is that many (if not most) of the current buyers are currency traders. As such, they buy large lots and then hope to sell them at a lower Linden price to make a profit. Experienced traders can make money no matter were the price of the Linden sits. They are trying to become what is know as Market Makers. Read this thread to learn more (especially post #1 : /130/4b/107964/1.htmlGive it some time, though. The Lindex just instituted limit buys this week. Over time, more regular buyers should enter the market (we hope) and there will be smaller buy lots requested.

I watch the Lindex a lot and have seen many market buys of L$1000, a few of L$500 and even one of L$150.

From: Svar Beckersted I watch the Lindex a lot and have seen many market buys of L$1000, a few of L$500 and even one of L$150. Even for small buyers this could be good. If you're prepared to plan ahead a bit, why not not use a limit buy? You might get a good deal.
