If you want to drop your ships on other peoples land, look for those that are on sale. Right click on the land, and choose 'about land'. Look at the section that says 'Autoreturn other user's objects'. Look for land that has 0 minutes on it. Then drop all your ships there.

They will stay there for some time. If the land gets sold, just find another place and move on.

Or, use the Let-me-build-on-this-land feature. The button is labelled "Buy Land", but don't let that confuse you.

How large (prims) is your ship; how high do you want to hang it; and what do you intend to do with it (roleplay? with friends? regularly scheduled?)?

This involves using money I presume. How can you suggest such a thing??

So, let me get this right -- you want someone else to let you use their prims from _their_ land that _they_ paid for so you can park your ship in midair.

well the ship i have is over 800 prims so far ..but im only going to build key points to it so it not the full ship..and i would like to place it at least above the clouds..as for buying land thats a no go for me..im rather poor so i cant do that..like i said its a long shot to try to ask this..and yes this is for a starfleet RP that will happon every week ..only problem is i dont have a place for it

Sajin, I think you are going to find it hard to find someone to agree to something like this.

The reason is that in SL - Prims = Land = Money = Ongoing Expense.

Asking for 800 prims is a bit like asking a stranger to give you $20US per month indefinitely.

Most people would prefer not to.

well it is seeming like im going to have to just not do the rp i was going to do..thanks anyway..sighs

Have you tried talking to some of the Star Trek RPG groups in game? That might be a good place if you haven't already.

Sajin, it's probably very, very rarely that you'll be able to find a sim owner that would be willing to just donate the land for such a use. Sometimes, Second Life is just the same as in real life in the sense that money talks (or even Lindens).

As an alternative, you might want to try a different approach. See if a sim owner might be willing to work out a deal to where you can have your ship, but also under the condition that you set up crew quarters that can be rented out to anyone. You'd work with the sim owner so you could handle room assignments, but they'd receive all the money from the rental.

Something like that could make the idea more appealing, especially if it's a good number of rentals in a relatively small area.

hia there zania..im glad to see you...the reason im in here looking is because i had a deal with cobra that they could use my bridge for there RP games..but because the bridge was built by nightspy..they desided to not place mine there..so now i AGAIN do not have a place..now your idea about the rental thing might be a good idea

Looks like you really can't afford to keep the ship _parked_ anywhere but in your inventory when you're not using it.

You haven't seen new builds on Governer Linden land before?

And just how could this be fun for other people, unless she drops the ship/s somewhere and ALLOWS EVERYONE TO WALK IN to look around and play with the buttons and stuff? Otherwise, it's just a huge scripted knicknack just sitting there.

It would be really cool to have a starship hanging in the sky above ones house, If I had land and excess prims available, I'd say yes. What a cool way to get a Spaceship for free.
