They've been planning this for some time now and have made it known to us (look here for starters /3/be/59782/1.html). Basically it's an effort to help keep the amount of L$ in cirulation from raising exponentially to rediculous levels. It does suck for basic members that don't sell anything but it (theoretically) helps keep the L$ to US$ value from dropping thru the floor, potentially increases L$ trade and could also help those seeking more L$ to become more creative in order to obtain more L$.

than whats point having basic than if can't make a thing You just answered your own question kai. The basic account allows you to access second life and have all the fun a freeloader can have. If you decide that you enjoy the game, then upgrading to a premium account is only obvious. |
