LindeX in a word: Inconsistent

Getting US$ out of LindeX is, in a single word, inconsistent. Many times I've started a PayPal transfer and it took less than 24 hours. Sometimes 48. But increasingly, it's getting into several days, and by posts in these forums, up to a week or longer for some.

Why the inconsistency? Linden Labs started the LindeX because it was supposed to be better than GOM. In my opinion, it's been sub-par compared to GOM. While it may be "easier" to sell and buy Lindens, getting your US$ takes much, much longer and there is little to no communication from the Lindens when there are delays in processing. GOM had a queue number, so you had an idea of where you stand.

There is no reason why the LindeX shouldn't be running as efficiently as GOM did. The LindeX has paid staff behind it, not people doing it in their spare time, in addition it has millions of US dollars backing the company running it... yet they can't put together a consistent LindeX customer experience. Sometimes uses the LindeX is like X, sometimes its like Y. And sometimes, using the LindeX is like Z.

Please, Lindens, get it consistent. What if Linden Labs decided to NOT tell you when your paycheck was being direct deposited, and just gave it to you whenever some magic, out-of-sequence number popped up on someone's screen?

This is a perfect example of what happens when the Government invades the domain of private industry.. GOM, motived by profit, worked hard to facilitate trade and payments. The more happy customers, the more GOM grew and the larger their bank account.

In comes Linden Labs to leverage their monopolistic powers and take over the currency trading business. Without motivation of profit in this one sector, Linden Labs has allowed its support/customer service to fall below par.. And since they don't have much competition, they have no incentive to try harder to make things seamless.

Shout to Jamie... Bring back GOM v2.0.

Lindenlabs aren't a government. They are a private company. You're looking at the private sector at work. So if you don't like it, question your free-market public-sector ideals, not the idea of government control.

The other thing I liked about GOM was it was much cheaper. That was good for GOM users, but I think the real win was that it allowed for daytraders - they really helped stabilize the day to day fluctuations in the market.
