Over the past few days I've been playing the my-classified-listing-is-higher-on-the-list-than-yours-game. While it's a game with very simple rules it's not a very fair one. Three times I've had my ads totally removed from the listings and just today had them totally deleted from my profile! Poof, 500L$ spent for two listings that lasted less than half a day. Now I'm not posting to complain about the loss of a couple bucks but I am a bit annoyed that I didn't receive any notification about having the ads removed just for being winners of this alphabetical sorting game.
Yes I know, the rules to the game have been recently amended to include the check of disallowing spaces in front of the title. Makes sense, obviously someone at LL recognizes this issue to at least one degree. But here's what would make a lot more sense, don't sort by #-Z at all. Random sort the list differently each time the list is displayed. Keeping things starting at 0 or even A is going to continue having people play the pointless listing game.
LL please just randomize the classifieds listing and end this stupid relevancy diluting game.
BTW: Here's a fun tip for those of you who play this futile game, try using some alt-somenumbers codes for a classifieds title. Like alt-256 appears to be a null character that when put in without any other characters allows one's ad to appear at the top. You win! Maybe enough people mucking with alt-# will at least get the dev looking at the classified's chunk of code again.
