ok, nothing wrong with Paypal, I just signed up, and that's mainly the "problem". It takes days for varification and transfering money into the account, and then from there it takes even longer to transfer to GOM. All the other sites I've visited also use PayPal. Is there anywhere where I can buy some $L with good old VISA? I need it fast... Any help would be appriciated

IGE charge about 20% more than GOM, but they do take VISA and usually deliver pretty quickly.

Right now I'm in enough a tight spot to risk a few percentage extra. Allthough, IGE had a nonefunctional like to SL marked... Any other suggestions?

IGE should be back up shortly, I have spoke to LIVE help and they are aware of the issue.

Yes, IGE takes credit cards which is one very useful service for some people. GOM and ANSHECHUNG.COM are both currently cheaper, but we don't take CC as of now.

Thank you all for your inputs. Under normal conditions, I would have traded with the regular sites, but this time I needed the money fast. As Alby says, I should have planned this better, and the price for it was relativly steep compared to Anshe and GOM. Hopefully my PayPal account will be active soon, and I can trade normaly. Again, thank you all

GOM and Verified Accounts

I sympathize with the starter of this thread. I never buy money when it is something I can plan ahead for, but sometimes things come up (a neighbour selling property, for instance) that means I need cash fast. I wanted to use GOM the other day for that purpose, but found that my regular paypal account (which has a credit limit more than 4X the amount I wanted to buy) wasn't good enough: the account had to be verified. This would take several days and I hate owing money to anyone that long in VL. What did I do? Went to Ebay. It is a few dollars less of a deal for sure (GOM is the best that way from what I can tell) but it was almost immediate. SL bank there, by Damien Fate is always super fast and uses paypal, but doesn't have to be verified. (Damien, do I get extra $L for advertising for you? drat. thought not. hehe.)

The "verified PayPal" requirement was originally implemented as a fraud-protection measure. We have since implemented many other security features (progressive scaling-in of deposit limits chief among them, but there are several others) which are currently in the testing phase. Once these have been sufficiently tested and come online in the production version of the GOM site we will, in all likelihood, be dropping the requirement that our users wishing to deposit from a PayPal account have it verified.
