Land/group how-to help?

Alrighty, I have all my land currently donated to the group. I'm buying the land out from the group myself. I have the only donation, and my tier covers it all. How do I buy the land from the group, without screwing up and losing it to LL ?

Is there a way to do this?

Undonate the tier from the group, and then buy the land for $0. It will complain that the group doesn't have tier, but nothing will happen to your land as long as you buy it immediately.

I just did this a couple days ago, with no problems. Maybe I got lucky...

hm, ok, I had heard from somebody (wish I could remember who now) that if the group didnt have the tier it immediately returned to LL obviously that would be really bad.

Well, that is what I did, and I successfully bought the land. I set it to sell only to me, for $0, before I pulled my tier from the group.

Groups have a grace period to regain tier if someone suddenly pulls out. You can safely remove your tier from the group, then purchase the land for yourself. Remember that you will not have the ten percent tier bonus anymore. If you need that, make a new group with a couple of alts, donate all your tier to it, and purchase the land for that group.

YOU WILL LOSE THE LAND IF YOU PURCHASE IT BEFORE YOU REGAIN YOUR PERSONAL TIER.

If you buy the land with not enough tier, the system will tell you approve a tier increase at the website. After you pull your tier from the group, you will no longer need to approve the increase and, in fact, there will be no approval screen on the website for you to click.

HOWEVER, the system will register that you did not approve the increase after twenty-four hours and release the land. It's wrong. It's a bug. It may or may not ever be fixed. But that's how it works.
