Not sure why anyone in there right mind would change the website so that you cannot set your own sell rates. It is my hard earned lindens and simply refuse to sell it for under 300 /1.. So if your worried about the millions of dollars that are floating around and causing your lindex market to be bad then fix your ecconomy or second life will simply plumit into a worth of nothing.
Its bad as it is you went out and created "FREE" basic accounts lol, Now no one wants to give linden labs a dime when they can simply create items and suck the system for what its worth.
Your lag is at times so awfull that people cant even shop at some locations. People are simply selling there land and going fully basic , This might be due to the fact that "WE" the users of second life have been taken away our rights to enjoy second life.
When second life becomes no more fun for people they will simply pull up stakes and find a different game to take its place.
I depend on the money I make in second life / I calculate all my sales and how much money I make. If the exchange dont become more stable soon I will be forced to sell up land and pull up stakes myself.

And the majority of the population aren't content creators, so the Linden's value going up makes it less fun, because they get less for their money.

Now I feel like a dork . I looked all over for why it was gone. Did they change the website?
Anyway about the fun comment. Yes there is fun in selling content and having your customers leave you ims thanking you for your great products. And YEP there is fun in watching your income rise when you sell too. I dont care what others think about that, Its fun to me to sell items and work with other players to create the things that they want.
I also work 40+ hours a week but I still find time in second life to make products and have fun selling them.
But the market is not stable and I dont care if I lose my stipends. There is a reason for content creation in this game and its not only for you to make your own stuff but for you to have a trade source like we do in real life.
DONT say well I cant do it . "LEARN" Anyone can drop a prim on the ground and learn in a few days time how to create very nice stuff in second life.
There is a skill in anyones second life that can give you linden dollars /If it be just a few bucks to play second life and get a few things to keep you happy or to make a LOT of lindens and sell them for a real life return.
I find no reason for anyone to be broke in second life.

There is a reason for content creation in this game and its not only for you to make your own stuff but for you to have a trade source like we do in real life. That is true for content creators. For consumers you're saying it's for someone else to make their own stuff and for someone else to have a trade source. You can see why they'd be less happy to pay for that. If this was true then the L$ rate would be guaranteed to plummet because nobody would be paying US$ for them. Most people's physical body is as capable or more capable than Da Vinci's was and yet for some reason when they try to make the same motions with their hand as he used to paint the Mona Lisa, they can't do it. I gather that this mystery has been the subject of a fair amount of philosophical thought If you believe that anyone who is hardworking and sociable will be able to earn their own L$ then the exchange rate will be left depending on the lazy antisocial people.

Well maybe you can help me find this "advanced tab"? I went back to the website and still was unable to find it. I cleaned my cache and deleted cookies and went back again a third time. I see NO place when I click on sell lindens to set my sell rate. It says enter the amount of lindens and it will simply take care of the rest lol.
Id like to know why the webpage changed on me in the first place?

lol hell you can sell your avatar in second life for lindens if you wanted lol. You hit it on the nose "LAZY" / Its a matter of if you WANT to take the time to try and earn lindens not if you can or cant lol. Ill argu you this all day lol.
And im talking the basic amounts of money to take the place of stipends. Anyone if they go to a simple contest in a club could win 500L in an couple hours time lol. There is your weekly stipend. We dont need that stipend. There was one post I read that made more sence to me then any. Someone posted that there be a range of linden dollars that one could have in there account / If that range was overstepped then the stipend would simply stop tell the ammount was POVERTY again lol.

You missed the point. In order for the exchange rate not to fall, people have to be paying US$ for L$. If it's true that anyone who's not lazy can earn their own L$, then either nobody will be paying US$ for L$ at all (in which case you won't ever be able to sell them), or the only people who will be doing so are the lazy people. If it is really true that anyone can earn their own way in SL then the market is doomed to crash.
