I'm going to be assisting Resis help fill out their L$ tax forms. I've got the PDFs on hand--wish it was easier to use notecards for this sort of thing.

Well once we all understand how we are going to get taxed I am sure there will be various mitigation schemes available. Of course I may be able to assist in taxation planning

If you volunteer to be a collector, you're exempt from the charges, right?

I think the inworld tax rate of 35% of gross sales receipts is quite fair. I already paid my L$1,765,000 in taxes. This should really help the inflation issue :)

I'm seriosly considering leaving Second Life now. Thanks Lindens. I use my $L for real moeny (Not alot, just some DVD and game money really), but I do use it. And i also use it for my SL fun money, most everythnig in SL costs money these days. Well due to these taxes, April 15th I'm cahin in my money (Not with LindenX for sure =| ) And After that my leaving decision will be made.

Good job Lindens. I hope this taxes thing is an april fools joke though, looking at the date.

A man, called to testify at the IRS, asked his accountant for advice on what to wear. "Wear your shabbiest clothing. Let him think you are a pauper."

Then he asked his lawyer the same question, but got the opposite advice. "Do not let them intimidate you. Wear your most elegant suit and tie.

Confused, the man went to his rabbi, told him of the conflicting advice, and requested some resolution of the dilemma.

"Let me tell you a story," replied the rabbi. "A woman, about to be married, asked her mother what to wear on her wedding night. 'Wear a heavy, long, flannel nightgown that goes right up to your neck.' But when she asked her best friend, she got conflicting advice: 'Wear your most sexy negligee, with a V neck right down to your navel.

The man protested, "What does all this have to do with my problem with the IRS?"

"No matter what you wear, you are going to get screwed."

Linden Labs regrets to inform you it is against company policy to give refunds on lag. It's not our fault. There must be something wrong with your computer.
