plug your own server into the SL grid? In effect I own my own land and have full control over it and LL is only the gatekeeper, providing an access point to its world. If that's the case there maybe a way to build a stable monetary system seperate from the others. And if there is , how much do they charge for it?

Bo there isn't. I would imagine the main problem is that of security, not only of the grid, but all the assets.
