Whats up with that? Heres another: https://secondlife.com/auctions/detail.php?id=0026197056

Just the proxy bidding showing incorrect times, the auctions are still working fine.

I see, just seems kind of wierd. Wasnt sure if it was SLs auction coding or something else.

Automatic bidding. The bidders put in thier maximum amounts, and the system automatically sets the actual bid to the minimum highest to win, not exceding the maximum. So, lets say A posts a max of $1000, the minimum bid was $100 with $10 incements, so the bidding's now $100. So B comes along and wants the land but only for 500, so B sets 500 as B's max... 110 is the next up, so that's B's bid. But A's got room, so the system up's A's bid to 120. Then up's B's to 130... A's to 140... yadda ydadda yadda ... B's to 500, then finally A's to 510. Anything more is over B's max bid, so the cycle stops. Now it posts that B posted a bid of 500, but A posted a new bid of 510. (No use cluttering up the screen with the interim bidding.) B gets a message that someone outbid B. B returns and posts a new bid of 700. Same thing happens, the system posts that B bid 700, but then A (automatically) posted a bid of 710. That's what you're seeing there. Now, I'm violating my don't-post when tired rule, so please forgive if this is both unclear and somewhat innacurate.

That's how the bidding works. It means he put in a first bid of $220 at 17:53. When others bid, they tried above what was the low amount of his lowest bid was at the time. Because his top bid was still higher, the automatic bid processor, I think it's called proxy, increased his bid to top their bid.

Yes, that's how it works normally, it time-stamps the highest bid and keeps going up in increments. That's how it can determine who wins if the time runs out and two people bid exactly the same, it takes the one with the earlier bid.
