I read all about the wonderful first land and signed up for the monthly payments so I could get it. I did the search for first land and nothing comes up. The cheapest ive seen is L$3 a sq. Is there ANY first land left?? Im new so forgive me if I miss anything obvious.

I just did a search in-world and found no First Land for sale right now. I'm sure the Lindens will be making more available soon. You could send an email to realestate@lindenlab.com and let them know that you're looking for First Land and there is none out there.

I will try that I suppose. Not a big deal just would be nice to own a slice for myself.

Wow, that seems shocking! Especially given that there was such a first-land dump in the last weeks, and so many parcels for the new continent!
Well, if you don't want to wait for the Lindens, contact me in-world and I can sell a 512 for just $512, but it will be likely only be in PG, will have to check what I have. _____________________

Not a big deal just would be nice to own a slice for myself. ![]() Catherine wait for the Lindens to release more First Land - and yes definitely send an email to LL support. It really shouldn't take but a day or two more. Once you obtain your First Land parcel you can decide if SL is for you - and when/if you decide to move up, you will be able to sell your first parcel for a nice return. It's all about patience and picking as many brains as possible. And oh, if you want free stuff and new player resources IM me inworld our group has tons-of-stuff. ![]() ![]() _____________________

I could point out that the Linden first land is usually almost always in crappy places. It is usually in the middle of a sim in a big square with other 512s and the building can get ugly. So shop around a whole bunch before you use up that $512 privilege -- you won't get it a second time!
Merwan seems to resent the idea of a player using up their first-land privilege of buying a land for $512 on another player who is willing to set the land at $512 to try to pick up the slack from the Lindens! Geez, WTG Merwan, always trying hobble commerce! No need to do that, I was making a gesture to help this player get some land instead of waiting. It certainly doesn't benefit me to sell something for only $512, but I could point out that what she buys from me might be in a better location, and be resellable by her for a higher price, than the first-land junk from the Lindens. I think it's good to support the internal players' economy and not just buy only from the Lindens on their first land or auction schemes. But the great thing about SL is that you have a lot of choices. As for collecting all the free newbie junk, sure, go do that, everyone does. But sometimes a fellow newbie such as yourself has made some stuff and it helps him to buy from him, and it helps the economy, the economy you youself may wish to draw from some day when you sell things and when you buy things and look for competition. _____________________

Maybe the sweat shops have found us. Too bad SL is designed to make it profitable to flip new accounts.
So maybe first land gets snapped up by yet-another-alt. |

Profoky,
I give you my kudos and admiration. To offer a newbie a 512 plot of your private land for only L$512, which I know is most likely at a loss, is the best way of showing good will that I can think of. Way to go and keep the up the good work! |

Took me hours of looking but I found a piece of first land - on the water lol - (hey its land and was mature)
Question - are all 512 lots limited to 117 prims? |

Took me hours of looking but I found a piece of first land - on the water lol - (hey its land and was mature) Question - are all 512 lots limited to 117 prims? Yes they are. Prim allotment is tied to the m2 size of the plot. There are a few exceptions, a set of 'city sims' with double the prim allotment. But they do not come up for sale much. That also does not make 512 useless per se, it depends on what you're trying to do. Myself, I was quite content with just under 1024, only another US$5 a month for the land tier upgrade and was all I really needed most of the time. Now I rent a larger parcel but that is a special case and can be ignored. ![]() But in general, this should at least get you started and allow you the space to experiment with SL. Take your time with the tools etc, get to know others here, and settle in a bit before considering a larger parcel. And above all, have fun! That's what I did, and helped quite a lot. _____________________
