what kinda of land/terrain would you like to see ll release?
i think it would be fun for ll to release sims with - little islands archipelagos (sp?). - desert terrain like they did for burning life - lunar terrain - martian terrain - a sim (or group of 4 sims) that was one big crater

Unbroken, oasis-les desert, ala Dune, with some rocky outcroppings
Red-sand type desert, ala the grand canyon-ish type terrain.

Candyland.
That'd be tasty, although not the most versatile. A big, sim candyland... with glazing and icing on the floor and maybe some sprinkles and slabs of chocolate too.
I should remark Taco has particularly creative usage of surface texturing in a cartoon context.
Here's something else: TUNDRA. And, more varieties of sand (there are people who study sand, I forget what to call them).

Not exactly what you're asking... But it just occurred to me that I'd love to see a sim like some of the opening "heaven" sequences of "What Dreams May Come". Kind of sim world made of paint.

Not Flat. I love all kinds of land, but a diverse sim is my favorite. Different land textures, land shapes, water. different types of water. I just really hate a sim that's totally flat.

I would love to see some mainland sims w/ textureable plots. Maybe it could be done in an archipelago sim, to limit total patchwork chaos. It would create a new class of "special" land, like the terraformable core sims. I don't know if it's doable or not, but it would open up a lot of possibilities.

ooh ooh, larger-scale land formations would be cool, too--like a multi-sim valley bounded by hills or mountains featuring grass, rock and soil areas, and a river down the middle. I've seen some valleys and river canyons in-world (I live on one in Enceladus), but they all seem scaled down. I'd like to see a six or eight sim valley, the kind of thing you'd find a small town in IRL.

Swamp. Entirely covered in about .50 - 1.5m deep water with lots of water plants and cypress trees.

Not that you said "creepy" I was thinking "Creature from the black lagoon"-ish I'd also like to see a seperate grid that had the surface of the moon or mars and was always set to night.

I feel that a real swamp atmosphere would not be complete without stuff grabbing your legs and pulling you under, and washing noises as you walk. Maybe you can carry a big machete in hand too. It's that whole tension... being in the bayou.

From: Surina Skallagrimson This is being done... but we only have 2 sims so far... From: StoneSelf Karuna which sims? So far Aretias and Hypatia, soon to be added Themiskyra. In the fictional back story for Amazon Nations we live either in the cauldra of a giant extinct volcano or the valley of a giant meteor crator, depending on which version you've heard. Either way, a big crator shaped hole with cliffs/hills on all sides and a lake in the middle. The cliffs provide a natural barrier to the outside world though hiden caves and a river channel through the cliffs provide access to those who know of them. Basically the inverse of a four island sim that has land in the middle and water all around... This is a work in progress.

creeks and small streams in the mountains
05-18-2005 11:40
I'd like to see terrain that was like the streams/creeks of the Adirondacks or Smokey Mtns or similar. Small mountains with lots of small streams. Think fly fishing, river paddling.
