I've been waiting years to see (G Rated) SL servers used to promote RL commercial ventures and serious educational developments.

I've been waiting years to see (G Rated) SL servers used to promote RL commercial ventures and serious educational developments. This is already happening. See Stage Coach Island. _____________________

What are you looking for? LL doesn't get directly involved in these kinds of things. Buy some sims, make them PG and bring your customers in.

One thing that's lacking.. ease of access for clients. There's a lot of hoop jumping and p0rn dodging just to get a client to do a walk-through of an RL architect's model.

Having a single button that installs, creates an account, and pops the client up in your shop would sure help. From there if they want to go exploring, then that's up to them.

I agree it's not really straight forward. I do it on a regular basis, and some people get it better than others. But I recieved an email a few months ago that might be of interest to you. I think it went out to everyone, but I know it wasn't especially sent to me.
Dear Second Life Resident, I wanted to let you know about a cool new feature that allows you to bring new residents directly to your land, bypassing Orientation Island and the Welcome Area. Here's how it works: 1. Set your home location to the place you would like your referrals to arrive. 2. Go to http://secondlife.com/community/referral_code.php and follow the directions for creating a referral code for a personalized Orientation Experience 3. You can then use this code on your emails, website, etc. This is the first step in allowing you as Second Life landowners and merchants to control the experience you present to your customers. Any feedback that allows us to continue to improve this process is welcomed. Sincerely, --The Team at Linden Lab _____________________

One thing that's lacking.. ease of access for clients. There's a lot of hoop jumping and p0rn dodging just to get a client to do a walk-through of an RL architect's model. That is what private islands exist for. If you buy a private island, you get your own telehub, and set it up with Linden Labs so when a customer of yours registers, they can include a code in their registration that makes your island the first place they appear in Second Life. hope this helps!
