just kicking a thought around...... say you have a group with 4096 total land allowance among its members. break it down like 4 people with 1024 each to be simple. they don't actually own any land but they want to buy a 4096 meter parcel.

how do they do it without anyone having to tier up? none of the individual members could buy it then deed it to the group because they only have an allowance of 1024 each. can a group somehow buy land as an entity? i know you can give your land allowance to a group even if you never owned land but that doesn't help if one person still has to buy the land and give it to the group.

You can buy land directly into a group by selecting "Buy For Group" when you go to buy the land. At least that's what I was told (never done it myself.)

Too bad people can't cumulatively add to tier. So, if you had 20 people they could buy a whole sim by just adding 9.99 per person.

go Fiona! no really....go! get away from the forums while you still can! kiddin' :D

thanks for the answer. i didn't know that.

blaze can't you do that by signing over some of your tier allowance to a group? one of my groups owns a few thousand meters of land and we all contributed part of our tiers.

Congratulations on posting to the forum. Unfortunately, I think you've gotten the wrong idea about this place. Your first post was entirely too helpful, congenial, and drama-less. In the future, I'd suggest throwing in some "witty" one-liners or acerbic barbs. Also, everyone loves drama. I think you could have easily spun this into the official Drahma Thread of the Hour. If you had suggested that the "Buy For Group" feature exacerbated the growing problem of land barony, and promoted the pursuit of greed as opposed to creativity, you definitely could have scored some major Drahma Points. If you'd then staged a huge melodramatic flight from the world, you'd go down in the annals of Drahma History.

a group officer can buy land directly for a group if the group already has enough allocation to cover the tier.

the officer must have enough personal money for the purchase. groups don't own money for more than a day before they pay it out to each member equally.
