If you have never bought land before, you should buy First Land through the LL program, which gives you 512m2 for L$512. To find First Land lots available, go to Find / Land Sales and type 512 into both the price and area boxes, and hit search.

At any one time, there are always 100-200 First Land lots available, and their value is unbeatable. You should always buy one of these as your first land purchase, even if you don't think you will settle there - if you buy any other land, you will give up your right to ever take advantage of this program. You can always sell your lot to a neighbor so they can expand (but sell it at market rates!) and then use that money to buy another lot if you want to live elsewhere.

There are some LOVELY First Land lots open right now. Makes me wish I was new again so I could buy one!
