SL Exchange or GOM. Help me decide.

I came across GOM and SecondServer ATM's on Second Life and I notice that they both do the same thing. I want to use one, but I don't know which one I should use, and I have no reason to use both. So I was wondering if you can help me decide on one. Which is more popular in Second Life?

Also, if there are any other ATM services in SL, please list them.

SLExchange and GOM are nothing alike YOu use GOM to bank your money to sell for lindens and SLExchange you put money in to spend on Items from their website That's Like comparing Wells Fargo to Amazon.com

Do your research, they are totally different and do TWO entirely different things

SLExchange.com Terminals are used to -

-Valadiate your user account at our web page
-Make L$ deposits to and from your user account at our web page

Our Terminals do not allow for conversion of L$ to US$.


GOM's does that.

This also isn't the kind of poll that you want to make 'open.' I don't think you'll get decent results for this anyway just because anyone can see who voted on what.

I really, really hate the public poll option--blind polls are the only ones that make sense to make. Otherwise, why not just ask the question outright in the forums?

Maybe you meant GOM versus IGE.

GOM is better because they have really fast, personalized service with real individuals always behind the avatar. I've had some real mess-ups with them but they always fix them and stay on the job to fix them, and half the time mess-ups are caused by LL log-in problems, etc.

IGE is fine for other purposes, i.e. going over $250 which has to be manually reset on GOM unless you have been a member for 2 months or unless you beg extra hard : )

They all have their advantages or disadvantage depending on what you are trying to do at a given time but I would favor GOM just from my experience.

Right. GOM and IGE both have their place. For example if you want sell L$ you can do like this:

- If you are not in hurry, have all time in the world and can sell little by little then going to GOM often gets you best rate

- If you want sell fast or huge quantity up to 250k L$ you can go to IGE

- If you want sell fast but IGE is overstocked or if you want sell more than 250k or if you want be paid in EUR then you can go to Anshe Chung

Also, if you want buy L$ but don't have PayPal, then you can buy with credit card at IGE instead of going to GOM.

And, yes, SLExchange is totally different beast. SLExchange is market place to sell SL items.

This rate is not nearly as good as GOM, which is currently buying at 3.88USD/L$1000. Your rate is only 3.75USD/L$1000. GOM is safer and pays more. So why would someone sell you their L$?

It is less hazzle, easier, no fees and people can unload huge quantities at once. I am not competing with GOM. I am GOMing for those who are tired of GOMing

I also wonder why you think dealing with me would be any less safe than dealing with GOM. Both Zeppi and I each have our long histories of flawless business transactions.

hmm IGE is paying $790, but not a bad price for a back up plan, thanks Anshe.

A difference of 400$ is more than worth the "hazzle" of dealing with GOM. Which isn't really a "hazzle" at all.
